I do not think that the Savage should take a long time to warm up, my Savage does not reguire any choke or warm up time in warm weather (to run good). Only in cold weather, do I use the choke and than only for a few minutes!

Get the standard jeting back into your carburetor, unless you have modified the exhaust system. You say that the previous owner drilled out the jet. I can imagen the botched up job he did. No telling what size hole is now in the jet!!

I will repeat myself in saying that my exhaust system is as "Silver" as the day I bought the cycle new.

I did drill two 1/2 inch holes into the end of the stock muffler and replaced the main jet to a #50. I do my driving in thin air at 4000 to 9000 ft above sea level.
